IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE 2017 SOAP COMPETITION
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to Margaret, here are a few pointers to the questions that we have received:
Entry fees are $2 per class – sorry about the omission on the entry form
If a soap contains honey it can go in class 1 and/or 4 (for the purposes of this competition honey is defined as of plant origin)
A natural soap with designs on it would only be eligible for the decorated class 3. A natural soap with designs in it – from water discounting etc – would be able to be entered in class 1 and/or 3.
Natural with colour – class depends on what is used as the colouring agent, packaging is part of presentation and is allowed.
Don’t forget your ingredient list (not recipe) – to make sure you have entered the right class!
Enter as many times as you have soaps!

Dairy Goats are very affectionate, loving animals, they give you milk for all your dairy needs. Have you ever wanted to make your own cheese, ice cream, yoghurt, cream or even the goats milk soap.
They produce a good pelletised fertiliser for the garden and mulch from the old bedding hay. They will give you many laughs and take up your time. It is very relaxing sitting milking a goat in the early morning or evening, once you get the action right. There are many spilt buckets of milk when you are learning to milk and often the goat is finished her feed before you finish milking.
If you would like to know more on the care and rearing of dairy goats please come along and see us at the Goat Fest.We will have plenty of information sheets and books. We are really happy to talk to you on all aspects of Dairy Goats.
I hope to see you there.
Cathy Packham,
Dairy Goat Society of Australia, Tas Branch.

We would like to dedicate our Supreme Championship win to our dear friend Colleen Peardon who lost her battle with MND the morning before Launceston Show 7th October. I had organised a private meeting with Neale and Jan Daniher, Colleen and myself Saturday afternoon. Colleen took a keen interest in our Angora Goats, attached photo of our twins Diana (Supreme Champion, Champion Doe) and Kate (Reserve Champion Doe) – yes we named them after Royality.....
